Escuchar: How US oil policy could change under a president Trump or Clinton

It’s Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton and crude oil on this week’s Capitol Crude, as Platts senior editors Meghan Gordon and Brian Scheid look at what the race for the White House means for US oil policy and global supply and demand.

Congressman Kevin Cramer, a North Dakota Republican and top Trump energy advisor, stops by to give some more insight into what energy policy would look like in a Trump White House. Jon Sohn and Andrew Shaw, who both work on energy and environmental policy and regulatory matters at Dentons law firm, also weigh in on the oil policy differences between Trump and Clinton, the likelihood of Clinton taking President Barack Obama’s climate agenda further and the probability of a President Trump being able to roll back or eliminate fossil fuel regulations and international agreements.

Check back every Monday for the latest analysis of US oil policy news from leading Platts editors covering the Capitol. E-mail the editors at brian.scheid@spglobal.com and meghan.gordon@spglobal.com.
