Platts extends feedback period on proposal to amend Asia lump iron ore methodology to Nov 20

S&P Global Platts is extending the feedback period on its proposal to amend the normalization methods of the daily spot iron ore lump premium assessment and to publish outright prices to November 20, 2019.

Accordingly, the effective date of the proposed amendments would be postponed to January 2, 2020. The proposed launch date of the outright price assessment remains unchanged as January 2, 2020.

As part of this project, Platts is proposing to assess lump over the forward fines strip, to refer to the lump market structure when assessing the lump premium, to reflect lump basis floating information and to publish outright prices for iron ore lump. For more details on the proposal please refer to the subscriber note published October 14, 2019: https://www.spglobal.com/platts/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/101419-platts-proposes-to-amend-asia-lump-iron-ore-methodology-publish-outright-prices
