S&P Global Platts proposes launching new daily price assessments for IMO-compliant Marine Fuel 0.5% bunkers on delivered and ex-wharf basis at an expanded list of ports in the Americas from December 2, 2019.
Platts proposes to publish Marine Fuel 0.5% bunker fuel price assessments on both an ex-wharf and delivered basis in New Orleans, Philadelphia, Seattle and Vancouver, and on a delivered basis in Buenos Aires, Cartagena and Santos.
The proposed assessments would reflect the following timing and deliveries:
PORT BASIS VOLUME DELIVERY New Orleans ex-wharf 250-1,000 mt 3-7 days forward New Orleans delivered 250-500 mt 3-7 days forward Philadelphia ex-wharf 250-1,000 mt 3-7 days forward Philadelphia delivered 250-500 mt 3-7 days forward Seattle ex-wharf 500-1,500 mt 3-10 days forward Seattle delivered 250-750 mt 3-10 days forward Vancouver ex-wharf 500-1,500 mt 3-10 days forward Vancouver delivered 250-750 mt 3-10 days forward Buenos Aires delivered 250-1,500 mt 3-7 days forward Cartagena delivered 250-1,500 mt 3-7 days forward Santos delivered 250-1,500 mt 3-7 days forward
The new assessments would be added to the existing suite of Marine Fuel 0.5% bunkers assessments. In the Americas Platts launched Marine Fuel 0.5% bunkers assessments in Houston, New York, Los Angeles and Panama on July 1, 2019: https://www.spglobal.com/platts/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/070119-pl atts-launches-marine-fuel-05-bunker-assessments-globally-on-july-1
Platts will continue to review the publication of high sulfur bunker fuel assessments at locations where they currently exist.
Platts is proposing to discontinue the 3.5% bunkers assessments in Santos.
In line with Platts' existing Marine Fuel 0.5% bunker and cargo assessments, the new IMO-compliant bunker fuel assessments will reflect specifications for RMG fuels as defined by the International Organization for Standardization in document ISO 8217:2010 Petroleum products -- Fuels (class F) -- Specifications of marine fuels, but with a maximum sulfur limit of 0.5%.
