S&P Global Platts is proposing to discontinue publishing its low sulfur fuel oil 380 CST bunker fuel assessments in Piraeus and Genoa from Oct. 6, 2021.

The proposed discontinuation follows market feedback that LSFO 380 CST is no longer being produced or sold at most locations in Europe following the implementation of IMO 2020, the sulfur cap reduction mandate on marine fuels, which means that it can only be used in combination with scrubber technology.

The assessments proposed for discontinuation and the Platts price database codes they appear under are as below:

Assessment Code Monthly Avg

Bunker FO 380 CST Piraeus LS 1% (Ex-Wharf) AARKM00 AARKM03

Bunker FO 380 CST 1.0% Genoa (Ex-Wharf) AARSR00 AARSR03

These assessments appear in Platts Bunkerwire, Bunkerwire Monthly, on Platts Bunker Alert pages 1860 and 1861, Platts Shipping Alert pages 1220 and 1221, and in the Platts price database under the codes above.
