Sugarcane crushing for the 2014/15 season draws to a close in Thailand this week, with just three of the country's 52 mills still in operation through the second week of May, having crushed an expected total 106 million mt of cane. As the last few mills shut down, Platts sugar pricing specialist Darren Stetzel and managing editor David Elward look forward to sugar remelt, planting of the next crop, and the market's first expectations for the 2015/16 season.
