The US ethanol industry is aiming high in 2015, hoping to top 1 billion gallons of exported material. Jordan Godwin, US biofuels editor, and Wes Swift, US biodiesel editor, report back on other things they heard at the National Ethanol Conference, including how it appears producers may take spring maintenance periods as early as possible while margins are still thin, in hopes that they don't miss out on future profits. Additionally, if ethanol prices to continue to stay low, a surge of ships heading toward export markets could help shape prices domestically.
