Turkey's polyethylene imports in December down 5% year on year to 100,513 mt

London — Turkey's imports of all grades of polyethylene in December were down 5% both year on year and month on month to 100,513 mt, Turkstat data showed Thursday.

The country imported 39,380 mt of high density polyethylene in December, 22,810 mt of linear low density PE and 38,323 mt of LDPE.

In December 2017, turkey imported 45,960 mt of HDPE, 24,722 mt of LLDPE and 35,128 mt of LDPE. In November, it imported 42,648 mt of HDPE, 23,165 mt of LLDPE and 40,142 mt of LDPE.

Turkish petrochemical demand was under pressure through 2018 on economic issues that adversely impacted its economy.
