In a posting on its website, the company said the auction saw the entire amount of 693 MWh per hour awarded for the period on the VIP Pirineos virtual link between the two countries, with the bidding resulting in a price premium Eur0.05/kWh/h per quarter, which is payable in addition to the Eur1.06/kWh/h per quarter regulated tariff. All figures have been rounded.
For the Q2, 2019 auction, also held Tuesday, Enagas said it awarded nearly the full quota of bundled capacity on offer of 693 MWh/h at a premium of Eur1.26/kWh/h per quarter in addition to the regulated tariff of Eur1.50/kWh/h per quarter.
Enagas did not provide any details regarding the bidding procedure or name the winners of the capacity.
Further along the curve, the auction for Q3 capacity saw 8% of the 26.7 GWh bundled daily capacity on offer awarded with no premium over a regulated price of Eur0.95/kWh/h per quarter.
For the Q4 product, the same amount of firm bundled capacity (2.2 GWh/day) was awarded with no premium, and a regulated tariff of Eur0.857kWh/h per quarter.
The auction for firm unbundled capacity was far less successful, with only 24 kWh/day awarded for Q1 from 50 GWh/day on offer, or 0.00005%.
For Q2, 11% of the 50 GWh/day firm unbundled capacity was awarded at the Enagas regulated tariff of Eur1.49/kWh/h per quarter.
For Q3 and Q4, 0.0001% was sold of 40 GWh/day on offer at prices of Eur0.95/kWh/h per quarter for Q3 and Eur0.85/kWh/h per quarter for Q4.
In terms of exit capacity from Spain to France on the VIP Pirineos link, 48 GWh per day was offered for each of the four quarters of 2019 as firm bundled capacity and 50 GWh/day as firm unbundled capacity, but zero was awarded in each sale, according to Enagas.
Commercial capacity on the Virtual Interconnection point between Spain and France is around 60 GWh/day, according to Enagas.
For September, 1.66 TWh of gas has been nominated to flow across the connection from France to Spain, according to Enagas, equivalent to 55.5 GWh per day.
Of this total, 7.2 GWh/day, or 27% of the amount offered was awarded via auction as firm bundled capacity at the Enagas regulated tariff of Eur0.31/kWh/h per month.
Additionally, 1.1 GWh/day (3% of the amount offered) was awarded as firm unbundled capacity at the same price.
On Spain's other virtual link, the VIP Iberico, with Portugal, no capacity was awarded in either direction in auctions for the four quarters of 2019, from 80 GWh/day on offer for each period.
