Singapore — China's crude steel output in October hit a record 82.55 million mt, up 9.1% on year, data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on Wednesday showed. The annual growth rate compares with 7.5% in September.

The daily crude output in October hit the third highest level at 2.663 million mt/day, down from 2.695 million mt/d in September.
Over January-October, China's crude output totaled 782.46 million mt, up 6.4% on the year.
Meanwhile, China's pig iron output increased 7.3% on the year to 67.74 million mt in October. In the first 10 months of 2018, pig iron output totaled 645.06 million mt, up 1.7% on the year.
