The purchase price was not disclosed.

The deal brings together Triple-S, which is one of the largest privately owned steel service centers in the world, and Shamrock -- the largest distributor of structural steel in the Permian Basin.

"Now the entire breadth and depth of our large inventory and variety of services are available to [Shamrock's] customers in the Permian Basin," Stein told S&P Global Platts in an email Wednesday. "And we intend to expand the variety and capability of services available locally as well."
