China 2016 imports of Chilean copper concentrate up 27% on year at 4.74 mil mt

Singapore — China imported 4.74 million mt of copper concentrate from Chile in 2016,up 26.7% year on year, the latest data released Tuesday by the GeneralAdministration of Customs showed.

Chile is China's top source of imported copper concentrate.

The other top nine sources for 2016 were: Peru (4.61 million mt),Mongolia (1.50 million mt), Mexico (994,532 mt), Australia (760,493 mt), Iran(504,799 mt), Spain (493,733 mt), the US (468,888 mt), Canada (459,988 mt) andKazakhstan (344,277 mt.)

Imports from the 10 countries totaled 14.88 million mt, representing87.2% of China's total copper concentrate imports of 17.05 million mt for2016.
