US plastics recycling struggles to meet demand, highlighting investment gap
US demand for recycled plastic bottles has risen steadily in recent years to meet ambitious company and state government goals. However, recycling rates have held flat for the past decade, and even fell by a percentage point in 2019, according to the latest data released by the National Association for PET Container Resources (NAPCOR).
