Matthew Cook is the associate editorial director for Americas crude and fuel oil markets, where he leads the team of reporters responsible for producing daily price assessments for crude oil, fuel oil and bunker fuel in North and South America. Matt first joined Platts in 2004 as a market reporter covering Texas’ electricity market. He holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin.

Statistical correlations are interesting things. One of my favorite websites, and now a book, is Spurious Correlations . The site's author looks at seemingly unrelated data sets that correlate in interesting ways
