Kappa-Create Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Nov. 30, 2014, came to a loss of ¥4.35 per share, compared with a loss of ¥12.23 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of ¥174.4 million, compared with a loss of ¥488.6 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin rose to negative 1.0% from negative 2.2% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue decreased 22.7% on an annual basis to ¥17.35 billion from ¥22.43 billion, and total operating expenses fell 24.1% from the prior-year period to ¥17.66 billion from ¥23.28 billion.
Reported net income came to a loss of ¥391.0 million, or a loss of ¥9.75 per share, compared to a loss of ¥1.50 billion, or a loss of ¥37.52 per share, in the prior-year period.
As of Jan. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥116.84.
