Under Armour Q3 profit climbs 16.0% YOY

Under Armour Inc. said its third-quarter normalized net income amounted to 27 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 25 cents per share.

EPS rose 15.0% year over year from 23 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $119.0 million, a gain of 16.0% from $102.5 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to 8.1% from 8.5% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 22.2% year over year to $1.47 billion from $1.20 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 23.2% on an annual basis to $1.27 billion from $1.03 billion.

Reported net income rose 27.2% from the prior-year period to $129.3 million, or 29 cents per share, from $101.7 million, or 23 cents per share.
