Montero Mining & Exploration Ltd. posted an initial resource estimate for the Uis lithium-tin tailings project in Namibia for an inferred resource of 14.4 million tonnes at 0.37% lithium as lithium oxide and 17.1 million tonnes at 0.05% tin as tin oxide.
The estimate is based on a 63-hole aircore drilling program on the coarse and fine tailings material on the Uis mine site.
The resource for lithium in the coarse tailings material used a cutoff of 0.35% Li2O at 5% product grade, while the resource for tin in the fine tailings deposits used a cutoff of 47 parts per million of tin oxide.
President and CEO Antony Harwood said the company is planning further drilling, infill drilling and metallurgical test work to upgrade the resource from the inferred to the indicated category.
Montero recently secured exploration licenses for the lithium-prospective Avispa project in Chile's Atacama desert.
