Saizeriya Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended May 31 amounted to ¥34.10 per share, a gain of 29.5% from ¥26.34 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥1.74 billion, a gain of 30.9% from ¥1.33 billion in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 4.7% from 4.0% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew 11.5% year over year to ¥36.62 billion from ¥32.83 billion, and total operating expenses rose 10.3% on an annual basis to ¥33.93 billion from ¥30.76 billion.
Reported net income increased 51.6% from the prior-year period to ¥1.65 billion, or ¥32.40 per share, from ¥1.09 billion, or ¥21.61 per share.
