Lotte reappoints imprisoned chairman to subsidiaries' boards

Lotte Group reappointed its imprisoned chairman, Shin Dong-bin, to the board of its subsidiaries Lotte Shopping Co. Ltd. and Lotte Confectionery Co.,Ltd, Yonhap News Agency reported March 23.

The approval reportedly came during the companies' shareholders' meetings.

Shin was sentenced to 30 months in prison for bribing a friend of impeached South Korean President Park Geun-hye in exchange for a duty-free license for Lotte.
