Uber withdraws job offer to former Amazon executive

Uber Technologies Inc. withdrew its job offer to former Amazon.com Inc. executive Assaf Ronen after finding a discrepancy related to his tenure at the online retailer, Recode reported March 21, citing a memo from Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi.

According to sources, Uber had assumed that Ronen was still working for Amazon at the time of hiring, while he had already left the company by then.

The company has tapped Manik Gupta, product vice president, to lead the product organization on an interim basis. Former Product Head Daniel Graf is also serving the company as an adviser.
