Scotiabank Perú appoints new chairman

Scotiabank Perú SAA said its board appointed Gianfranco Maximo Dante Castagnola Zúñiga chairman and re-elected Miguel Uccelli Labarthe vice chairman, effective March 21.

The bank's parent company, the Bank of Nova Scotia, nominated Castagnola Zúñiga chairman to replace James Tully Meek, whose departure from the position was announced in October 2017.

Castagnola Zúñiga has been serving as an independent director on Scotiabank Perú's board since 2007, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence data. Uccelli, meanwhile, has occupied the vice chairman role since 2016.
