Arcland Sakamoto fiscal Q1 profit climbs 21.4% YOY

Arcland Sakamoto Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended May 20 came to ¥40.90 per share, an increase of 21.5% from ¥33.68 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥1.66 billion, a gain of 21.4% from ¥1.37 billion in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin increased to 6.2% from 5.6% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 8.9% on an annual basis to ¥26.62 billion from ¥24.44 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 7.3% from the prior-year period to ¥23.89 billion from ¥22.26 billion.

Reported net income increased 9.8% from the prior-year period to ¥1.55 billion, or ¥38.27 per share, from ¥1.41 billion, or ¥34.84 per share.
