Commvault Systems Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2015, was 5 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 20 cents per share.
EPS decreased 61.3% year over year from 12 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $2.2 million, a decline of 61.6% from $5.7 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin fell to 1.4% from 3.7% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew year over year to $155.7 million from $153.0 million, and total operating expenses climbed 5.7% year over year to $152.2 million from $143.9 million.
Reported net income rose 41.6% from the prior-year period to $4.7 million, or 10 cents per share, from $3.3 million, or 7 cents per share.
