Nokia customer operations head moving to Apple

Nokia Corp. said it intends to realign its customer-facing organization into two regional groups: one for the Americas and the other for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Ashish Chowdhary will continue to lead customer operations and remain a member of the group leadership team until the end of 2018. He will then leave Nokia to become Apple Inc.'s country manager for India overseeing sales, beginning January 2019, according to The Indian Express.

Ricky Corker was named president of customer operations for the Americas. Corker is executive vice president and president for North America.

Federico Guillén, meanwhile, was appointed president of customer operations for EMEA and Asia. Guillén is president of the fixed networks division, for which a new leader will be announced in due course.
