Chesapeake Utilities Q2 adjusted EPS falls short of analyst estimates

Chesapeake Utilities Corp. on Aug. 8 reported second-quarter adjusted net income of $8.3 million, or 50 cents per share, compared to $7.6 million, or 46 cents per share, in the comparable quarter of 2018.

The S&P Global Market Intelligence consensus normalized EPS estimate for the quarter was 56 cents.

Second-quarter GAAP net income totaled $8.3 million, or 50 cents per share, compared with $6.4 million, or 39 cents per share, a year earlier.

Total operating revenue came in at $130.9 million, down from $136.7 million in the year-ago period. The company booked $17.4 million in second-quarter operating income, an improvement from $13.2 million in the prior-year period.
