Luxottica forms retail partnership with Bass Pro

Luxottica Group SpA said May 11 that it signed an agreement with Bass Pro Outdoor World LLC to set up shop-in-shop outlets for the Italian eyewear maker's Sunglass Hut retail concept across the Missouri-based company's store chains.

Under the partnership, Sunglass Hut outlets will be rolled out in approximately 160 Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's outdoor recreation stores across the U.S. The first was set to open in May, with a full rollout expected to be finished by the third quarter.

In addition, Sunglass Hut will serve as the exclusive seller of sunglasses for the Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's chains as well as their e-commerce platforms.

Luxottica, owner of the Ray-Ban brand, projects annual sales of about $100 million after all the Sunglass Hut shop-in-shop locations are operational.
