Japan's Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp. appointed Paul Yonamine as a director on its board, with effect from June 27.
Yonamine currently serves as chairman and CEO of Hawaii-based Central Pacific Financial Corp. and executive chairman of its unit, Central Pacific Bank, according to a March 25 release. The appointment is subject to regulatory approvals in Japan.
Yonamine also serves as chairman of Japan-based M&A advisory investment bank GCA Corp.
