The American Bankers Association appointed JPMorgan Chase & Co. Managing Director Naomi Camper as its chief policy officer, beginning June 18.
Camper is the first to fill this role, which was created last fall "as part of a broader restructuring," the U.S. banking trade association said in a statement.
Currently head of JPMorgan's office of nonprofit engagement, Camper previously oversaw consumer public policy and led the bank's federal government relations team.
She also has Capitol Hill experience, working for former Sen. Tim Johnson, D-S.D., as staff director of the Senate Banking Subcommittee on Financial Institutions from 2001 to 2005.
