Seiren Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 was ¥22.84 per share, a gain of 22.3% from ¥18.68 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥1.37 billion, an increase of 22.6% from ¥1.12 billion in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 4.9% from 4.3% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased 6.9% year over year to ¥27.92 billion from ¥26.13 billion, and total operating expenses increased 6.0% from the prior-year period to ¥25.88 billion from ¥24.42 billion.
Reported net income grew 22.0% on an annual basis to ¥1.90 billion, or ¥31.72 per share, from ¥1.56 billion, or ¥26.07 per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥76.00 per share, an increase of 14.0% from ¥66.66 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥4.55 billion, an increase of 14.4% from ¥3.97 billion in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue rose 5.9% from the prior-year period to ¥103.77 billion from ¥97.98 billion, and total operating expenses rose 5.5% on an annual basis to ¥97.20 billion from ¥92.13 billion.
The company said reported net income rose 16.5% year over year to ¥4.90 billion, or ¥81.90 per share, in the full year, from ¥4.20 billion, or ¥70.53 per share.
