Property and casualty

North of England Protecting & Indemnity Association Ltd. made a number of appointments to its executive and underwriting teams.

Brian Davies was appointed London director. He will be responsible for the development of the company's newly launched fixed premium protection and indemnity product.

The company also appointed underwriting directors Emma Liddell and Mike Hustler for the Asia-Pacific region, Sanchit Dutta for the Middle East and Indian regions and Phil Eccleston for the Greek office. Sumito Dosaka was appointed marketing senior executive for the Japan branch and Nick Wolfe was added to the company's underwriting team.


Brokerslink AG appointed Ariel Couto Americas regional manager.

Couto also serves as CEO of MDS Brasil, Brokerslink's Brazil-based partner broker.


Brokerslink also named Tiago Mora regional manager for Africa.

He will head the newly established regional steering team in Africa, which will drive growth and development for the company's broker partners and affiliates in the region.


Castel Specialty named Colin Rose head of its new offering for the construction and engineering market.

Rose served as head of construction and engineering at Beazley PLC.

Castel Specialty is a division of Castel Underwriting Agencies Ltd.


ClaimsPro Inc. appointed Sonia Ryme director of the specialty risk division for Quebec, Insurance Business Canada reported.

She will provide technical oversight and overall support for the division's teams in the Montreal office.

She replaces Jean-Yves Bernier, who will be retiring in early 2020. Bernier will work with Ryme to ensure a smooth transition before his retirement.

Ryme served as director for Quebec and Eastern Canada at ClaimsPro's transportation, equipment and cargo team.


DARAG Group Ltd. Chief Client Officer Eleni Iacovides resigned following a recent reorganization at the company, The Insurance Insider reported.

She will leave at the end of October to pursue other opportunities.


Neil Mayes resigned as managing director and head of London property and energy at Guy Carpenter & Co. LLC's facultative reinsurance operation, The Insurance Insider reported, citing a report from Inside FAC.
