Cigna Corp. has acquired Brighter Inc., a software company that develops platforms for healthcare companies and insurers.
Brighter's software-as-a-service products connect consumers with insurance plans and providers. They also help providers streamline marketing and administrative costs, according to the company.
Brighter will continue to serve its existing customers and pursue new ones. It will also become the digital platform for Cigna's markets and segments.
The business will be led by its founders Jake Winebaum and Jason Szczuka.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
