Trump's ex-defense secretary rejoins General Dynamics board

Former U.S. defense secretary James Mattis returned to the board of General Dynamics Corp. on Aug. 7.

Mattis was part of the aerospace and defense firm's board from August 2013 to January 2017.

Mattis resigned as defense secretary in December 2018 due to policy disagreements with President Donald Trump.

General Dynamics also declared a regular quarterly dividend of $1.02 per share, to be paid Nov. 15 to shareholders of record as of Oct. 11.
