Amphenol Corp. said its fourth-quarter normalized net income was 63 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 72 cents per share.
EPS increased 17.4% year over year from 54 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $199.7 million, an increase of 17.5% from $169.9 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 12.1% from 11.9% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew 15.4% on an annual basis to $1.65 billion from $1.43 billion, and total operating expenses rose 14.9% year over year to $1.31 billion from $1.14 billion.
Reported net income rose 19.1% on an annual basis to $236.6 million, or 75 cents per share, from $198.7 million, or 63 cents per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled $2.30 per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate of $2.70.
EPS rose from $2.06 in the prior year.
Normalized net income was $726.4 million, a rise from $652.8 million in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue grew year over year to $6.29 billion from $5.57 billion, and total operating expenses increased year over year to $5.04 billion from $4.46 billion.
The company said reported net income rose on an annual basis to $822.7 million, or $2.61 per share, in the full year, from $762.8 million, or $2.41 per share.
