Online fashion retailer Zalando SE said March 14 the company will discontinue its private label business within zLabels in April as part of rebuilding the private label business.
The Germany-based company will club its private labels and its partner brand assortment under one roof.
From spring/summer 2020, Zalando's private labels will focus on everyday essentials for apparel offering while the retailer will continue to focus on footwear and accessories.
The company will retain its 11 private label brands for the time being and review it later according to the new assortment strategy.
Zalando said a significant number of the 550 zLabels employees will be shifted to the Zalando fashion store or similar positions will be offered within the company.
