Orca Gold Inc. said Feb. 7 that it secured an exclusive permit from the government of Sudan to use water from the Area 5 aquifer for its Block 14 gold project in the country.
The permit entitles the company to extract the necessary water to support a 6 million-tonne-per-annum mining and processing operation, which is the basis of a feasibility study in progress.
The company recently released an updated resource estimate for the Block 14 project.
Using a cutoff of 0.60 g/t of gold, the deposits host indicated resources of 3.1 million ounces of gold and 4.0 million ounces of silver as well as inferred resources of 752,000 ounces of gold and 1.0 million ounces of silver.
