Umang Dairies fiscal Q3 profit climbs YOY

Umang Dairies Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, was 1.09 Indian rupees per share, a gain from 54 paise per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 24.0 million rupees, an increase from 11.8 million rupees in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 3.9% from 2.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 25.4% year over year to 621.7 million rupees from 495.9 million rupees, and total operating expenses climbed 22.3% year over year to 582.2 million rupees from 475.9 million rupees.

Reported net income rose from the prior-year period to 26.0 million rupees, or 1.18 rupees per share, from 12.5 million rupees, or 57 paise per share.

As of Feb. 4, US$1 was equivalent to 61.82 Indian rupees.
