UK Conservatives hold poll lead as election looms

The U.K.'s governing Conservative Party was 7 percentage points ahead of the opposition Labour Party in a poll published June 6, two days ahead of the general election.

The Conservatives had 43% support, according to the Opinium poll, ahead of Labour's 36% and the Liberal Democrats' 8%. The United Kingdom Independence Party trailed on 5% and the Greens had 2%.
