URU Metals Ltd. intends to apply to extend its mineral rights at its Zebediela nickel project in South Africa for a further 30 years.
The company said May 22 it will conduct an environmental impact assessment as part of the application process, and the mining right will allow the project to advance toward production.
The current prospecting right is set to expire in December 2021, according to the May 22 release.
Additionally, URU intends to conduct further geological mapping and diamond core drilling to follow up on previously identified targets.
The exploration program will target a maiden JORC-compliant inferred mineral resource of up to 60 million tonnes of nickel-platinum group elements mineralization, and look to increase the strike extent.
