Irish regulator allows Berkshire Hathaway unit to set up Dublin subsidiary

The Central Bank of Ireland has signed off on Berkshire Hathaway Insurance Group's formation of a subsidiary in Dublin.

The subsidiary, which is expected to start writing business by the end of March, will provide the Berkshire Hathaway Inc. business continued access to Ireland and the European Economic Area markets after the U.K. leaves the European Union. It will operate under the brand of Berkshire Hathaway European Insurance DAC.
