Nippon Paint Holdings fiscal Q2 profit climbs 12.6% YOY

Nippon Paint Holdings Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 was ¥27.46 per share, a gain of 13.9% from ¥24.12 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥7.16 billion, an increase of 12.6% from ¥6.36 billion in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 11.1% from 9.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue came to ¥64.69 billion, compared with ¥65.14 billion in the prior-year period, and total operating expenses grew year over year to ¥57.08 billion from ¥56.39 billion.

Reported net income increased 19.0% year over year to ¥9.51 billion, or ¥36.46 per share, from ¥7.99 billion, or ¥30.32 per share.
