Firm Capital American Realty Partners Corp. received approval from the Ontario Superior Court of Justice to convert into an investment trust from a corporation.

The company will change its name to Firm Capital American Realty Partners Trust when the conversion takes effect Jan. 1, 2020, subject to remaining approvals and satisfaction of other requirements. The U.S.-focused real estate company pursues real estate and debt investments.

Shareholders of Firm Capital earlier in December voted to approve the company's planned conversion.
