Chaman Lal Setia Exports fiscal Q3 profit climbs YOY

Chaman Lal Setia Exports Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2015, was 1.91 Indian rupees per share, an increase from 75 paise per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 98.4 million rupees, a gain from 38.2 million rupees in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 7.6% from 3.0% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue totaled 1.29 billion rupees, compared with 1.29 billion rupees in the year-earlier period, and total operating expenses fell 7.7% year over year to 1.13 billion rupees from 1.23 billion rupees.

Reported net income grew from the prior-year period to 108.4 million rupees, or 2.10 rupees per share, from 40.4 million rupees, or 79 paise per share.

As of Feb. 12, US$1 was equivalent to 68.19 Indian rupees.
