The Ruby Mills Ltd said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 came to 5.19 Indian rupees per share, a gain from 2.41 rupees per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 86.8 million rupees, an increase from 40.3 million rupees in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 16.4% from 8.4% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 11.2% year over year to 530.9 million rupees from 477.3 million rupees, and total operating expenses decreased year over year to 386.3 million rupees from 405.2 million rupees.
Reported net income rose on an annual basis to 118.3 million rupees, or 7.08 rupees per share, from 52.5 million rupees, or 3.14 rupees per share.
As of Nov. 14, US$1 was equivalent to 61.73 Indian rupees.
