Ex-baseball player named to California-based Farmers board; HomeTrust names EVP

* Farmers & Merchants Bancorp's board elected Steven Green as a director. He will stand for re-election at the Lodi, Calif.-based company's 2018 stockholders meeting in May.

Green has 40 years of experience in the banking industry. He was a professional baseball player in the Baltimore Orioles organization.

* Matthew Peron joined City National Bank's investment management division, City National Rochdale, as its new chief investment officer.

Before joining City National, Peron served as executive vice president and managing director of global equity at Northern Trust Corp. in Chicago.

City National Bank is a subsidiary of Royal Bank of Canada.

* Mark DeMarcus joined Asheville, N.C.-based HomeTrust Bank as executive vice president and commercial banking group executive.

He previously served as Carolinas president at Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Atlantic Capital Bank NA, a unit of Atlantic Capital Bancshares Inc.

HomeTrust Bank is a unit of HomeTrust Bancshares Inc.

* United Bancshares Inc. said that Herbert Huffman was selected by the nominating committee and nominated by the board to stand for election at the 2018 annual meeting of shareholders to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of James Reynolds, effective as of the 2018 annual meeting.

Huffman, a retired educator, is currently a director of United Bancshares unit Union Bank Co.

The company's annual meeting will be held April 25.

* David Shollenberger retired as a director of Williamsport, Pa.-based Woodlands Financial Services Co. and unit Woodlands Bank at the end of 2017. He becomes the newest director emeritus, according to the company's annual report.

He was an organizer of the bank.

* Pembroke, N.C.-based Lumbee Guaranty Bank appointed Wyatt Upchurch to its board, The Robesonian reported.

Upchurch has experience in agribusiness.

* Farmers National Bank of Danville appointed Patti Powell to its board, according to The Lane Report.

Powell serves as president of Stuart Powell Ford-Lincoln-Mazda.

The Danville, Ky.-based bank is a unit of Boyle Bancorp Inc.
