Juniper Networks, Inc. said its third-quarter normalized net income was 36 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 55 cents per share.
EPS decreased year over year from 38 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $139.4 million, a decrease of 5.3% from $147.2 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin fell to 11.1% from 11.5% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue fell year over year to $1.26 billion from $1.29 billion, and total operating expenses totaled $1.02 billion, compared with $1.03 billion in the prior-year period.
Reported net income decreased from the prior-year period to $164.6 million, or 43 cents per share, from $173.0 million, or 45 cents per share.
