Aurora to buy privately held medical cannabis company in $175M all-share deal

Aurora Cannabis Inc. is acquiring privately held Whistler Medical Marijuana Corp. in an all-share deal valued at up to C$175 million, including milestone payments.

Edmonton, Canada-based Aurora said it entered a letter of intent to buy the Whistler, Canada-based medical cannabis company to expand both its medical and adult-use offerings.

Closing of the deal is subject to certain conditions, including shareholder and regulatory approvals.

Stoic Advisory Inc. and Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP are acting as financial adviser and legal adviser to Whistler, respectively. McMillan LLP is acting as legal counsel to Aurora.
