Clicks Group said its normalized net income for the fiscal first half ended Feb. 28 came to 1.55 rand per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 1.78 rand per share.
EPS increased 12.6% year over year from 1.37 rand.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 384.6 million rand, an increase of 12.4% from 342.3 million rand in the prior-year period.
Total revenue rose 14.1% on an annual basis to 10.66 billion rand from 9.35 billion rand, and total operating expenses climbed 14.2% from the prior-year period to 10.02 billion rand from 8.78 billion rand.
Reported net income rose 12.5% on an annual basis to 438.6 million rand, or 1.76 rand per share, from 389.8 million rand, or 1.56 rand per share.
As of April 23, US$1 was equivalent to 12.18 rand.
