VRX Silica lodges 1st silica sand mining lease at Arrowsmith North prospect

VRX Silica Ltd. lodged an application for its first silica sand mining lease at its Arrowsmith North prospect, part of the Arrowsmith silica sand project in Western Australia.

The 17.3-square-kilometer mining lease will allow the company to apply for a mining permit in early 2019.

The company said Dec. 24 that it intends to file for a further two mining leases in the short term.

A drilling program to increase resources and improve classification is expected to complete in the March quarter of 2019.

Previous in December, VRX received letters of intent from three Asian buyers for total off-take of 590,000 tonnes per year of silica sand from its Arrowsmith and Muchea operations in Western Australia.
