Scor SE is moving the U.S. property catastrophe business written in Zurich to its Chicago, New York and Miami bases, The Insurance Insider reported.
Through the move, Scor is aiming to work more closely with its U.S. customers from domestic bases as part of its goal to expand the business written in the country, according to the report.
Thomas Haegin, global chief underwriting officer, is leading part of the $200 million business. Following the Jan. 1 renewal, the business will be within the remit of senior vice president, senior underwriter and property team leader Augustin Gas.
Haegin's team will continue to write a book of property catastrophe business focused on global clients with international exposure, including some Lloyd's of London syndicates, according to the report.
