NV Energy Inc. has selected 8minutenergy Renewables to develop the 300-MW Eagle Shadow Mountain solar project in Clark County, Nev., following a competitive solicitation initiated in January.
Eagle Shadow Mountain is among more than 1,000 MW of new renewable resources the Berkshire Hathaway Energy subsidiary plans to build in Nevada, NV Energy said in a news release, including 100 MW of battery capacity and six solar farms.
The utility said it will file the resource plan with the renewable and storage projects with Nevada regulators June 1. Three solar farms will be located in northern Nevada and three will be located in southern Nevada, the company said. All projects are slated for completion by the end of 2021. The six additional projects will bring NV Energy's total renewable energy portfolio to more than 3.2 GW, according to the news release.
The Eagle Shadow solar project will be located on the Moapa River Indian Reservation about 30 miles north of Las Vegas.
