K+S sells Swiss waste management company to Thommen-Furler

K+S AG said Jan. 17 that it has sold its K+S Entsorgung Schweiz AG unit to Switzerland-based Thommen-Furler AG to quickly generate value and reduce indebtedness.

K+S did not disclose the exact amount of the transaction, but said it is in the lower single-digit-million euro range.

The sold unit specializes in the disposal and recovery of inorganic filter dust, sludge and ashes.

K+S said that close cooperation with the waste management unit is envisaged following the company's integration into the Thommen-Furler group.

In December 2019, K+S announced considering the selling of a stake in the Bethune potash project in Saskatchewan.
